Tessin

In Zürich we visited David´s grandmother, and friends and stayed there for a few days. In Berlin we got to know a guy from Zürich who told us about an interesting place called Stadiongarten. We did not forget this because we were very curious about it and so went there. If you are there some day we can just advice you this very inspiring atmosphere with various kinds of projects!

Our next stop was Ticino. We went to Monte Veritá which was in former times a place of an old hippie commune. Luckily we are travelling during the off-season. So a very touristic place is quiet and lonesome and combined with the view to the mountains and the Lago Maggiore, this place was meraviglious. Seeing the mountains we wanted to go up and searched for a trail. We thought about going there by bike. But in the end our bike tour to Monte Bré- our start point- revealled as its own expedition. At first it seemed to be sunny and we got very warm biking up the steep serpentines… surprisingly the sun went away and it even started snowing and not just a bit. Arriving at Monte Bré at 1200mheight we decided to return because we were not prepared for this. All the way going up we were looking forward to the downhill run. But then it was not at all cheerfully. Our fingers got so cold that we could not brake anymore; we had to stop to warm them up…. in the valley it was raining a lot so we were very happy arriving at the bus to set fire to the stove.

The next day we went to Ponte Brolla, in the summer times a great place to bath. There we made a beautiful hike seeing old and a lot of empty houses.

From there we went to a place of red marmer to make another hike . As usual we were searching for a great parking place in the nature… but the paths are mostly bumpy and not easy to drive

Our hike started in the forestgoing up along the red marmer stones and crossing a lot of small streams. The sun warmed our faces and it felt great. The hike was a round and from the first top we had a great view to the Lago Maggiore and the mountains. From there went further not knowing what would expect us. At first it was sunny and warm but then everything changed. We were walking through knie- high snow and the further we went the harder it became- our trousers and feet became wet …. we hoped to arrive soon at a snow free area and the warm bus!

We often saiy that we don´t want to see snow anymore but again and again we meet at wonderful places J

This was our last stop in Switzerland from there we crossed the border to Italy and went to……..
